Skin Needling

Skin Needling also known as micro-needling or collagen induction therapy is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure used to achieve facial rejuvenation. Skin Needling stimulates the skin’s natural collagen production process creating smoother and healthier skin. Skin needling is effective for a number of skin concerns including scars, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin.

  1. How It Works

A fine needle ranging from 0.5mm to 3mm punctures the skin creating a microchannel, these microchannels are temporary and close within a few minutes of treatment to keep the surface layer of the skin intact. As the needles puncture the skin, dermal collagen and blood vessels are aggravated triggering a control flow of inflammation. This action then prompts a wound healing process, stimulating new collagen, elastin and capillaries.

  1. Benefits

Skin needling can be used on even the most sensitive of skin types and is well tolerated by clients. It is most effective in minimising the appearance of most types of scars including acne scars, surgery scars, thermal burns and chickenpox scars. We recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 treatments 6 weeks apart for optimal results.
